The Carrie Anne Kelly Studios Experience | Oceanside, California Boudoir Photographer

You deserve MORE than the standard, when it comes to a boudoir session. The experience I offer transcends a typical boudoir session + it is a whole-ass experience, catered specifically to YOU.

From the time you inquire allllll the way up to shoot day (and beyond) you are a complete priority to me. How am I able to offer such specialized and unique sessions, you ask? Well, let me explain!

01/ You’re the only session/client booked on your session day

Because of the way I do things, you are my priority on the day of your session. You are the only client I’ll be hanging with and photographing that day. I do this because I like to offer my undivided energy and attention to you, and I know that in order to do that, I can only work with one client a day. This allows us to really enjoy the time we have working together. It offers us the opportunity to slow down, get to know one another, and really share energy. We get to spend time getting creative, trying new things, laughing, and having fun. It’s a 2 hour session completely centering YOU.

02/ We create a pre-shoot experience that is focused on helping to make your session unique

About a month prior to your session, you get to work with my best friend and professional stylist, Kat, who is there to help you through a unique and personalized style guide experience. We send you a questionnaire, where we get to know you, your style, your color preferences, your budget, your vision for your session, your sizing - literally everything under the sun. Through this questionnaire, Kat and I build you a custom style guide that is there to support you as your begin to gather your outfits for your session. If you already have things you want to wear for your session, the guide can serve as inspiration. If you are looking to gather new lingerie and items for your session, the guide includes links to styles and pieces to shop from directly. Kat is also available for even more help and recommendations as we get closer to your session.

The style guide experience is uniquely offered as a part of my studio experience (this is not a standard at all boudoir studios) and is completely complimentary- no extra charge! We want you to have the best experience ever. While it literally does not matter what you wear to your session, it certainly can help calm and ease nerves when you have a plan + feel organized. That’s what we’re here for and this is why we offer this experience!

We also encourage you to choose outfits that feel incredibly authentic to you, as this can help to create a truly unique session! Your outfits should feel like an extension of you and your soul and we encourage you to dive deeper through the style guide experience!

03/ I cater posing + direction specifically to you and how you want to be photographed & your mobility

When I say “no two sessions are the same” this is what I mean. Not only do I lead you through the entire session pose to pose, guiding you every step of the way, but I also check in with you to see if you have a preference on how you’re posed and how you want to be photographed. The reality is, everyone does a boudoir session for a different reason, and not everyone wants to be posed the same way or for the same reasons. By centering you and your why and coming up with custom poses, I am really able to ensure the session is focused entirely on you and you alone. When you feel that you have a say in the creative process, it also allows you to feel more comfortable and confident throughout the session.

Additionally, I respect your body and its limitations as it relates to mobility. Beauty is not pain in my studio. We can (and will) modify all poses necessary to ensure your body feels respected and supported. You are encouraged throughout the entire session to let me know if any pose (for whatever reason) doesn’t feel right for you.

04/ I always ask for consent before fixing your hair or adjusting your lingerie, etc.

Your comfort is my top priority, always. Period. No if and’s or but’s. Personal space is…personal and I respect that. Before we begin working together, I will ask you for permission to fix your hair, adjust your straps, and move your hands in each pose. If you grant consent, I will guide you pose to pose, and then fine-tune all the details and make sure that nothing is out of place or missing. Wearing a necklace? I will make sure it’s nice and centered. Got bangs? I will ensure they look exactly how you want them styled. All with your permission, of course.

05/ I cheer you on and make sure you know you are doing an incredible job

This should (absolutely) go without saying - but in case you need a reminder - I will be your biggest fan and cheerleader throughout the entirety of your session. There really is never a moment of awkward silence or a time where you might be left wondering “am I doing this right?”. I will validate you, celebrate you, and ensure that you know 100% of the time, you are crushing your session. You will know where to look and when. You will be reminded to breathe and take deep breaths. You will hear me say “OMG stop right there, don’t move, this is soooo beautiful!”. It is all authentic 100000% of the time. I believe in the power of what I do and I believe in you.

I want you to know that you are absolutely so very worthy and perfect and deserving of doing a boudoir session with me. You don’t have to know how to pose. You don’t have to know how or when to look at the camera. You don’t even have to know what to wear! Our priority is to ensure you feel that you are being led through this experience. I am the professional and when I say I got you, I literally GOT YOU. From the moment you inquire, I am excited and ready to help change your life in big, big ways. When you step foot through my studio, I greet you with a giant hug and welcome you to the first day of your life where you made a big decision to see yourself different. This is big big stuff and I take my role as your photographer so very seriously.

We make waves. We take up space. We challenge what we’ve been taught to believe about ourselves and our bodies.

Whether you’ve gained weight, feel you’re too thin, have acne or scars, belly rolls, cellulite, stretch marks, have grey hair, wrinkles, dry skin, oily skin, haven’t shaved WHATEVER - I want you in my studio and I want to empower you and center you and celebrate you.
